Safety Update-
issues brought forth by nw. Problems with new hope food bank house. Talked to paster and they installed motion detector lights, and signed a tresspass agreement. SEI school signs are going up in the end of spring, also reduced speed signs.

Buisnesses were outreached to and 3 buisnesses have joined the saftey meeting.

Unthank Park improvements-
Maurcine Kment: I sit on a comitee that tries to get funding for unthank park as well as all parks in the interstate area. In dec I talked about a possibility of getting funding to get picknick tables and benches, and now we’ve goten it. The park will have handy cap essesible ramps and the slope is getting regrraded.

Possibly will be getting a wading pool in the park, now joined another comitee to study sustainable wading pond.

Play grond on SE corner there are three small trees if we want to add play ground equipment we need to remove one tree. won’t happen for a couple of years.

When construction happens they will close the play ground to stage equipment.

Kay update on funding: we’ll have a meeting the last Monday in feb to update the meeting. Its about another three months to finish.

Q. is there away for community members to give feed back with out joining a committee.
A. Soon will have a meeting of volunteers that doesn’t require you to join a committee but you could give feed back.

Landuse Update:
there is a land use visioning committee recently set up. at the last meeting and the first meeting 11 people showed up. Mostly working on what we would actually work on. Talked about reinvisioning the albina plan. Came up with a list of ideas to talk about. We are trying to esstablish a purpose statement for clarity.

There are a number of things that come up around deviding lots making them smaller. 50x100 to 25’ x50 foot wide lot. How do we design houses that fit in these lots. Albina plan was put in place in 93. Warehouses may be getting redveloped for 45’ high buildings.

Out of meeting. descussion of relationship between buisnesses and neighbors. We are trying to come up with ways to bridge gap between neighbors developers and buisnesses. We came up with the idea of creating a survey to inquire of peoples thoughts on projects.

ONI wants to understand what the consernse were. suggested a survey. this was given to the board.

Emily: At the land use meeting it was discussed and we should get a survey that we can apply to every development. Some people want the feed back is about the miss lofts but can be applied to other developments.

Bill: we have gone out of our way. this had been a witch hunt. We’ve talked to everyone in the 150 foot raides. We should send it to everyone.

Nichole: Office of Neighboorhood of Involvement wants information based on what the city wants to know because they felt the developers weren’t farily treated.

Bill: Did they specificatly asked you to questiion in the 150ft radius.

Nichole: No 500 foot radius.

Kay: it is critical that people don’t get missed directed. If we are going to do surveys we need to get the facts out around development so people know what the laws are.

Judith: I would like a broader survey not just this project.

Justin: I agree that we want it to be nutrual. We were advised to do this aobut the specific project. When we get the info in mail we have 14 days to get the info out. IT is starting now and you are the unlucky guys but what we have been made to feel is that it is our responsibility to talk to them.

Bill: are you targeting any body else this is a with hunt and we are doing everything that we can. We are trying to show that you don’t have to be a greed developer. Please do it on the whole neighborhood. This is going to happen irregaurdless of what people want.

Nichole: Thank you for being so open and coming to meetings. In thte past land use did survey. and its starting again with you. sorry. I think this is a positive shift to offer a nutral survey.

Bill: porvided that this BNA gets the final word on the survey.

Emily: 2 dif one survey between dev. and neigh another survey that will help create a vision.

N: ask developers to offer questions to put on surveys to get ideas.

Kay: Albina paln is law. You can’t just change it. If you want to review it fine but there is a process to alter it.

BHT: We talked to Debbie Bishcoff and she told us that gove wants to review but can’t afford it. Supports the move.

Kay: Other neighbors are looking at implementing the albina plan.

Neil: in the new visioning group its tool to educate about rights of citizens. Its not set up to take on Bill’s specific project it should have been happening.

Nichole: Board can vote on the survey before the next meeting and then ratifie at the meeting
